Welcome Ambassadors International Orientation Leader

The Syracuse University Center for International Services Welcome Ambassadors International (WAI) Orientation Leader Award signifies the completion of WAI Orientation Leaders responsibilities of helping new international students successfully transition into campus life at Syracuse University and a new cultural environment. WAIs are all volunteers and so this badge demonstrates their commitment to the international student community at Syracuse University. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with international students’ pre-arrival in the USA in the form of Zoom sessions and emails. • Assist with the international orientation schedule providing guidance and service as assigned. • Guide the new students in conducting events and activities, including campus tours, downtown tours, field trips, ice breakers and affinity groups. • Create informative presentations for incoming international students, as well as assisting in Q&A sessions. • Work collaboratively and as part of a team with the other WAIs and Center for International Services staff to best serve the new students. • Communicate with Center for International staff any issues/needs that the incoming international students may have during orientation.
