Command Financial Manager
Graduates of the Army Comptroller Course possess a foundational understanding of Department of Defense financial and resource management. This credential signifies that the individual is equipped to perform assigned duties effectively within the current defense financial environment. Graduates are capable of contributing meaningfully to FM teams at all echelons, applying core principles and ethics of financial management across military, civilian, and industry roles.
Credential-holders have demonstrated an understanding of the relationship between the Department of Defense and the global resource environment. Graduates display knowledge of:
Public sector financial management, including Federal Budget processes
Understanding Congressional Justification Books
Analysis of Defense appropriations

To earn this credential, recipients must:
Be nominated or approved for attendance by their organization.
Participate in an 80-hour course involving lectures, case studies, and practical exercises.
Complete instruction in key areas including Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE), cost analysis, budgeting, appropriations, and ethics.
Successfully engage in group projects and scenario-based applications.
Complete four hours of Ethics Training focused on public service and fiscal accountability.
This certification recognizes a commitment to excellence in financial stewardship and ethical leadership in the defense sector.
